Fue una secuela de la serie El Agente de C.I.P.O.L. (The Man from U.N.C.L.E. según su título original en inglés) protagonizada por Stefanie Powers, una agente estadounidense llamada April Dancer, y Noel Harrison (hijo de Rex Harrison) como su compañero inglés llamado Mark Slate. Al igual que en El Agente de C.I.P.O.L. el jefe de ambos estuvo interpretado por el actor Leo G. Carroll (Alexander Waverly). El personaje llamado "April Dancer" fue sugerido por Ian Fleming, el creador de James Bond, que fue asesor en la creación de ambas series.
